Seminole Metal Finishing, Inc. opened its doors on October 1, 1987, and officially incorporated the following year. What began as a small, family‑run operation has grown into one of Central Florida’s most trusted names in metal finishing and it is still proudly family‑owned today. Founder Elliott Blackwelder continues to lead the company, working side‑by‑side with his wife Carla, who has been an essential part of SMFI’s success for decades. Today, Elliott and Carla are joined by their son Jonathan and daughter Stephanie, representing the next generation preparing to carry the company forward. From the beginning, our mission has been simple: deliver exceptional quality and customer service that’s second to none. In 1993, we moved into our custom‑built electroplating facility designed specifically for metal finishing. We started with a single process, Black Oxide on Steel and Stainless Steel, but as our customers’ needs grew, so did our capabilities. Today, Seminole Metal Finishing offers a full range of professional finishing services backed by decades of experience, rigorous process control, and a commitment to doing the job right every time.

Seminole Metal Finishing utilizes a continuous training program for all of our employees which enable them to serve our customers better by keeping rejects and overhead costs to a minimum. In order to provide our customer with the quickest turnaround time, we specialize in short run production and small lot jobs. We also have the capacity to work on bigger jobs. Over the years we have Electroless Nickel plated gantry frames for the Kennedy Space Center, Electroless Nickel plated window rings for a deep sea diving submarine, as well as many other specialty plating jobs
